The Flashbacks make for a great cruising wheel and have a smooth controlled slide when used for freeriding. Due to their smooth finish and their sharp edges these wheels initially have mild grip. Coupling this with their 70mm diameter, which makes them an agile fun wheel, they are ideal for cruising and carving.
Underneath their smooth exterior however lies a mean freeride wheel. Once they have been ridden in and the smooth surface has been replaced by the coarse surface of slidden urethane, there is no stopping these wheels. Flashbacks produce a smooth controlled slide unlike many other wheels. The general rule of thumb is that the lower the durometer the more controlled the slide yet the shorter the life (more thane gets shredded) and the higher the durometer the easier the slide will initiate and the ‘icier’ the slide will be and its life slightly longer.
