The Rayne Fortune, also know as the ‘Canadian Bacon’ (we assume due to its concave and its rider’s nationality) is none other than Patrick Switzer’s Pro Model. But, all bragging rights aside, it is an incredible board. The board features a thick center ‘spine’ which tapers out and becomes slimmer towards the rails, known as ‘fat bottom construction’. This gives the board more clearance over you wheels, avoiding wheelbite and makes for a much lighter board.
The concave of the board is also something to behold. The board features a ripple concave (hence the bacon) at the front and back of the board, acting as wheel flares. This concave creates numerous pockets for your feet allowing it to feel comfortable for riders with different stances.
The board also comes with a slight kicktail, and if set up on the shortest wheelbase one has a lot of leverage over the board allowing one to pop ollies and what not. Speaking of wheelbases, the Fortune has plenty of option giving the rider the freedom to experiment with different wheelbases.
